My car insurance is higher with a great driving record, I get more interest on a bamk loan with a great credit history and long term employment, I get harassed by the police and get a made up ticket after my car getting searched and being frisked on my hot car hood, I keep watching movies and television shoes where we look like bafoons, my Black President has had more death threats than any other President in history, white folks bring guns to political rallies and get away with it, my grocery store has less health foods than their market, the lighting in my grocery store is more dimly lit than their lighting is, I had to share books in high school and our computers were 4 years more outdated than their computers…should I continue!?

I wish it was simply up to US and maybe you heard him but I am not sure you listened…you don’t teach yourself how to do anything in life…you must be taught by someone else. You don’t get anywhere in life alone. Unfortunately, everyone is not lucky enough to have some teach them correctly, provide them with support, or lead them in right direction. Those disadvantaged people who have made it tend to forget the people who helped them along the way or the opportunities which were available to them, which many did not have the luxury of having. I am not saying blame the white people but institutional racism and the cycle of poverty exists and claiming that its ALL up to the individual is not fair, just because a person doesn’t have a job or isn’t in college does not mean they are lazy you have no idea that persons circumstances. The belief that it is all up to the individual is what causes these false ideas that everyone can make it, which is the bullshit American society (white society) makes you believe so that when your life is fucked up you can only blame urself so that people don’t get angry and try to change the system which would threaten those in power.

right! Having seen both side of it, we have to only blame ourselves right now for the way some white ppl still treat us. At my job, the ratio of theft is 4 niggas steal for every 1 white person(and this is when it’s me and my only black coworker are working), we hate on each other the most (whether it be job, clothes, or ‘thinkin they better but they aint shit’), don’t support each other enough, etc. If you hate what stores/food/other shit in your neighborhood has to offer, then go to a community meeting or talk to the store owners. I go drink and hear ppl complain about how expensive shit is, wearing a $40 fitted, overpriced clothes, and they only drink goose or belvedere (cuz it doesn’t give headaches) GTFOH! You’d better get that $4 drink special! We don’t need to blame the white man, we just need some damn priorities! Only time I see us come together as a ppl is on King day, at the club (sometimes) or if there’s a racist issue made known by the media… We need to bring back the ‘black owned’ signs…that seemed to do the trick the last time
